This summer we had the pleasure of watching Kitri Falxa, who trains at Some Day Farm in Bend, OR, compete her beautiful 2004 hunter mare by Gatsby, named Ginelle, in the Baby Green Hunter division at Hunter Creek in Wilsonville, Oregon. It was so much fun for us to watch one of Gatsby's offspring in the competition ring while her owner was smiling from ear to ear! Kitri reported to us that Ginelle had a very successful competition season in 2009 that included a Reserve Championship at her very first A rated show! Kitri couldn't say enough wonderful things about her new mount (she has only owned her less than a year), and said that she and her trainer decided to purchase Ginelle from Rebecca Swan of Swan Training in Wilsonville, OR after trying no less than 30 different horses before they found her. As is often the case with many of Gatsby's progeny, it was the sweet, quiet, and steady disposition displayed by Ginelle that really sold her and her trainer on the idea of purchasing the mare to be Kitri's next long-term equine partner and friend. Congratulations Kitri and much luck to you and Ginelle in future competitions!

SOLD - Jayden FDF offered for sale - SOLD
Foxdale Farm proudly offers Jayden, 2009 by Gatsby, for sale. These pics of Jayden, taken at one month old, reveal a colt who is shaping up very, very nicely. He is incredibly handsome, with a gorgeous neck and topline, a beautiful head and face, a strong, powerful hind-end, compact frame, and the ever-famous, characteristic friendly disposition that Gatsby is so well known for reproducing in his offspring. Jayden LOVES people and attention, and he has a funny, comical personality. We suspect that he will shed out black, and he has 2 opposite white socks (left front, right hind) and a beautiful star. He actually looks quite a bit like Gatsby. Jayden will make some very lucky person an incredibly attractive, fun, and talented equine partner!
7/1/09 - Jayden was sold to a mother/daughter eventing duo in Colorado. Congratulations to Sundae and Chandler!

Gatsby's son Jayden born to Foxdale Farm
SHERWOOD, OR - We would like to proudly introduce Jayden (meaning, God has heard) by Gatsby out of Lori's beloved personal mare, Scooter xx. Jayden is a TRUE BLACK - Our first ever! He has three white markings and a perfect star. Jayden was born at 7:38 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. He is the only Foxdale foal due this season. We are thrilled, and after the loss of our only foal last season, also out of Scooter, this is an exceptionally joyous occasion and we praise the Lord for a safe delivery and a healthy foal.
Jayden was born with a lovely uphill build, a very nice neck, and he will be stunningly beautiful like his sire. On the night of his birth he is showing the characteristic Gatsby disposition - friendly, smart, sweet, and sensitive. He was up quickly, nursed well and was standing strong on his long legs!
We would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank Dan & Gina Rudiger (owners of Sonnenberg Farm http://www.sonnenberg.us/), Glenda Reeves (Barn Manager), her daughter Loren (who helped us with his name), and Jack Root, DVM, who bred Scooter, and who is a great Vet and a wonderful man! How Cute is That?
STEPHENVILLE, TX - How hard do you think it will be to start this one under saddle? Trista Fahle is VERY happy with her Gatsby weanling Gizmo. Gizmo is a 2008 ISR Premium foal. Here is a bit of what Trista has to say...
"Gizmo... is getting HUGE!!! Everyone around here sees him and doesn't believe me when I tell them he is only 8 months old. He is still an absolute sweetheart and will let you do anything with him and is always in everyone's business. His new best friend is my mother-in-law's donkey, which he towers over. Gizmo gets to go play out with everyone during the day but goes back up in his stall and run at night so he can eat his alfalfa. God forbid you should be late letting him out in the morning, the donkey gets very upset and waits by his gate. They play incessantly. I think it's the most exercise that donkey has had since we got him ;) Anyways, just wanted to send a few pics and let you all know that I love that 'little' horse so much and he is doing great."

Another Gatsby Foal is Headed for the Show Ring in '09
UTAH - Betsy Gilstrap's four year old Gala is going great guns and headed for the show circuit in Utah. Betsy sent along the above photo and these comments recently...
"Gala is so broke on the flat it’s amazing. Auto lead changes and everything. Natural balance. He is the nicest horse I have ever had, and trust me I’ve had many! His temperament is amazing, and I can’t believe that I’ve had him since he was 4 months old and done all his training myself. I am an amateur and only work him 3 times a week. The rest of the time he is hanging out in a 5 acre field (with run in stalls) with 3 other horses. I am so excited to show him!!!!!! The still jumping is very good form. Just not the most professional shot. He’s a great mover, yes! I love him and will never sell him I’m sure!"
Good luck to Gala and Betsy at the shows this Spring!

Looking for a Gatsby foal RIGHT NOW? Check out our in-utero deal...
Need a Gatsby baby and need it fast? Well, we can hook you up! We have the mare, Markee (actually she is a breed-lease) that is in foal due this spring. Markee (pictured above) is approved Belgian Warmblood (BWP). She had a gorgeous colt by Gatsby last season so we know what she will produce. Last year's colt (pictured above) is a beautiful BWP colt that is destined for the hunter/jumper ring. His name is Intuition but is called "Newt" around the barn. His owner (Becky Sancewich of Oregon City, OR) is in LOVE with him! Not only will he be a big fella, but he has a sweet Gatsby personality to match. He is leggy with a beautiful neck and topline, substantial bone, and he is a beautiful mover. He is definitely the total package! We have every reason to believe that Markee's next foal will live up to the same expectations!
Of course, Gatsby's pedigree is on our website (http://www.foxdalefarm.us/). Markee is by the Dutch Stallion Marand (Concorde x Lector). Concorde is by that famous Hanoverian, Voltaire who is by another classic stallion Furioso II (Selle Francias). In true Belgian Warmblood fashion, this resulting foal will have some of the most famous European Jumper blood in the world, (G-line Hanoverian, KWPN, Selle Francias) with just a dash of North American Thoroughbred (Seattle Slew) pretty darn famous in his own right!
.
We currently have this in-utero foal for sale on http://www.warmbloods-for-sale.com/ for $6500.00. Through our website and blogspot we are offering a private special with a 10% discount or $5850. We believe that this is a smokin' good deal for what is sure to be an awesome Gatsby foal.
